I was learning to add and subtract numbers in tens.  I needed to know my basic facts to solve these problems.  Next I need to use my place value knowledge to solve more difficult problems.

I was learning to summarise the main idea.  I know that summarising is when I retell the problem, solution and ending of the story in my own words.  I also need to talk about the characters and what they wanted.
